Artist Statement:

I am inspired by unusual lines, colors, shapes/forms, textures, spaces, and their visual relationships with one another, in the natural and human-made world.  The listed items in the introductory sentence being the elements of art, along with value.  In my art, which is comprised of various mediums and techniques from my art education studies, I strive to aesthetically – balance the elements of art.  I work from any combination of:  life right in front of me, sketchbook designs, photographs, or from lasting visual impressions in my memory.  My artwork encompasses everything from quite earthy, layered, and/or realistic images, to semi – abstract images, to very simple, bold, and/or abstract images, the latter two being directions I am interested in exploring further.
